Bengaluru : Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara announced that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Dharmasthala case has been instructed to submit its final report.
Speaking to reporters near his Sadashivanagar residence, he mentioned that the SIT had initially planned to submit the report in October. He anticipates they will submit it by the 31st of October or with a delay of a day or two. “We have asked them to provide the final report. They stated they would analyze the FSL report and chemical reports of the recovered bones before submitting it,” the Minister informed.
On Cabinet Reshuffle and Leadership Change
Regarding the cabinet reshuffle, Dr. Parameshwara stated, “We cannot comment on the High Command’s decision. We will wait and see what decision they take. We can only give statements to the media daily, but has the High Command said anything until now? There is no information from the High Command about a cabinet reshuffle or a leadership change. We can only react if there are instructions from the High Command. Until the High Command communicates, nothing holds significance.”
He expressed concern over the continuous political turmoil: “There was talk of power sharing, two and a half years [term], now they are talking about cabinet reshuffle, and then leadership change. Doesn’t this daily confusion affect the administration? To ensure good governance, all this must stop. To divert the attention from issues like floods and potholes, we need to expedite the administration. It is not right for us to be in this state of confusion.”
On CM’s November 1 Gathering
Responding to media questions about the Chief Minister hosting a luncheon (Santoshakoota) on November 1st, he said: “November 1st is Kannada Rajyotsava. Providing a meal during the Kannada Rajyotsava celebration should not be seen as a major political development. It is not right to give it a political analysis. The High Command has not indicated anything about a cabinet reshuffle so far, and there is no prior notice regarding it.”
On K.H. Muniyappa as CM
Reacting to slogans raised in Shivamogga demanding that Minister K.H. Muniyappa become the CM, the Home Minister commented: “K.H. Muniyappa has been a Member of Parliament seven times. This is not ordinary. He is a senior leader in the party, served as a Union Minister, and is now a State Minister. He is competent and qualified. If Muniyappa becomes the CM, I would be happy.”
“We all belong to the same community/class. We will be happy that our class got an opportunity. If the class that was suppressed gets to be the ruling class, wouldn’t one be happy?” he questioned.
When asked by the media if he believes a Dalit CM should get the position this time, he replied, “Who decides this in the party? It won’t happen just because four people sitting here say so. The High Command analyzes things. Elections are happening in Bihar; after that, if they feel the necessity, they will do it themselves.”
