Mangaluru : In a significant update for coastal rail commuters, Southern Railway has announced that the weekly special Antyodaya Express operating between Thiruvananthapuram North and Mangaluru Junction has been regularized. Starting March 16, the Thiruvananthapuram North-Mangaluru Junction Weekly Special (formerly 06313) began its service as a permanent train with the new number 16313. Similarly, the return service, Mangaluru Junction-Thiruvananthapuram North Weekly Special (formerly 06314), will operate as a regular train (16314) effective from March 17.
According to the official schedule, the train will depart from Thiruvananthapuram North every Monday at 5:15 PM and reach Mangaluru Junction at 6:50 AM on Tuesday. For the return journey, the train will leave Mangaluru Junction every Tuesday at 6:00 PM and arrive at Thiruvananthapuram North at 7:15 AM on Wednesday. This move is expected to provide more reliable and consistent connectivity for passengers traveling along this busy route.
In addition to the regularization of the Antyodaya Express, Southern Railway has also notified a slight change in the schedule for the MEMU Express operating between Mangaluru Central and Madgaon. The Madgaon-Mangaluru Central MEMU Express (10108), which previously departed from Madgaon Junction at 10:20 PM, will now depart at 10:35 PM starting from March 18. Passengers are advised to take note of these updated timings to ensure a smooth travel experience.
