Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath officially inaugurated the new KSRTC Non-AC Pallakki Sleeper bus service at the KSRTC bus stand by personally driving the vehicle for two kilometers. A fleet of four new sleeper buses has commenced operations between Mangaluru and Mantralaya, significantly improving connectivity for devotees and travelers. Designed for efficiency, these buses are expected to complete the journey in just 12 hours, making the sacred town of Mantralaya much more accessible to the people of coastal Karnataka.
The bus service follows a strategic route via Udupi, Shivamogga, Chitradurga, Ballari, and Adoni to reach Mantralaya. KSRTC has fixed the travel fares at 1,500 for passengers boarding from Mangaluru, 1,450 from Udupi, and 1,400 from Kundapura. This initiative aims to provide a comfortable yet affordable long-distance travel option for those visiting the popular pilgrimage site.
The Non-AC Pallakki sleeper buses are equipped with 30 berths and feature modern safety and comfort technologies. Key facilities include an advanced vehicle stability control system, front dash cameras, and rear parking cameras for enhanced safety. The interiors are designed with passenger convenience in mind, featuring individual LED reading lights at each berth, emergency panic buttons, fire safety equipment, and mobile charging points compatible with both USB and Type-C cables.
