Kasargod : In an unusual and startling discovery at a residence in Adoor, Kasargod, a rat snake was found trapped inside a table drawer with a gold ring tightly constricted around its body. The discovery was made at the home of a resident named Ravi when children, while playing, attempted to open the drawer and were met with the sight of the coiled reptile. The presence of the snake was shocking enough, but the sight of a gold ring wedged firmly around its midsection, visibly restricting its breathing and movement, left the family astonished.
It is speculated that the snake slithered into the drawer through a narrow gap, likely in search of prey such as mice. While moving through the cluttered space, it appears to have accidentally passed through a gold ring kept in the drawer, which then became stuck as the snake tried to move forward. Local authorities noted that the situation could have ended differently had the children attempted to handle the reptile, but their quick decision to alert adults ensured everyone’s safety.
Upon receiving the information, professional rescuers from the Forest Department arrived at the scene to handle the delicate situation. With great precision, the rescue team managed to extract the snake from the drawer and used specialized tools to cut the gold ring without inflicting any injury on the reptile. After a brief assessment to ensure it was unharmed, the snake was transported away and released into its natural habitat. This bizarre incident has since become a talking point in the neighborhood, serving as a unique reminder for residents to keep storage spaces secure.
