Belthangady : The court has issued an arrest warrant against Vithala Gowda, a resident of Pangala in Dharmasthala, Belthangady, for allegedly defying a legal injunction that prohibited him from making defamatory remarks against the holy town of Dharmasthala and its Dharmadhikari, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade. Vithala Gowda reportedly showed disrespect to the interim injunction order previously granted by the court. Consequently, due to his direct violation of the restraining order, the court has now ordered his arrest under contempt of court charges.
The arrest warrant was officially issued on June 8, with the court directing the authorities to apprehend him on or before June 30. Following the order, officials visited Vithala Gowda’s residence in Belthangady, but he was nowhere to be found. Family members and sources reported that he has not returned home recently, and it is believed that he has been evading the authorities and staying in hiding for the past four months.
To execute the arrest warrant, court officials arrived from Bengaluru on Saturday, June 27, and have launched an intensive search operation with the assistance of the local Belthangady police. As part of their investigation, the court officials visited Vithala Gowda’s house as well as the residence of a relative named Kusumavati to interrogate associates and gather clues regarding his current whereabouts.
