Mangaluru : To prevent traffic gridlocks and ensure public safety during the upcoming Dasara festival, Shree Ambamaheshwari Seva Trust (R.), Jeppu, has submitted a formal representation to the Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, requesting the immediate operationalization of the newly constructed Mangaladevi Bus Terminal at Jeppu. Copies of the letter have also been submitted to the Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner, and the Regional Transport Officer (RTO).
Currently, buses making U-turns near the Mangaladevi Temple premises are causing severe traffic congestion and inconvenience to commuters and motorists. With a massive influx of devotees expected during the festival, the Trust expressed concern that continuing bus operations at the current spot would escalate accident risks and gridlocks. Although the modern bus terminal at Jeppu was inaugurated in February 2025, it remains unutilized to date. The Trust has urged the administration to shift all bus operations to the new terminal before Dasara begins and maintain it as the designated hub permanently.
