Mangaluru : The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has taken a significant step toward complete digitization by introducing a newly developed software system and website. This dedicated portal is specifically designed to streamline the installation of advertisement hoardings and ease the process of fee collection within the city limits. The system seamlessly integrates both online payment methods and offline challan generations, modernizing a process that previously required extensive paperwork and physical visits.
Under the newly launched digital system, citizens can effortlessly submit online applications for installing new advertisement boards. Furthermore, the portal provides a hassle-free mechanism to renew existing permissions that have expired or request the cancellation of licenses through a comprehensive digital reporting system. Once an application is uploaded along with the mandatory documents, the revenue inspectors from the MCC taxation department will conduct a mandatory on-site physical verification. The final approval for the advertisement hoardings will be granted securely through the portal only after receiving the definitive clearance and orders from higher municipal authorities.
The newly deployed system prioritizes user convenience by embedding a highly flexible payment gateway. Citizens can clear their license and permission fees instantly from anywhere using online channels like Net Banking and UPI, or opt for traditional offline payments by generating a bank challan directly through the mobile application. This mobile-centric approach ensures that business owners can complete transactions on the go, significantly cutting down administrative delays and saving valuable time for both the public and municipal corporation officials. Additionally, an automated SMS alert system has been integrated into the software to actively notify users about upcoming renewal dates and pending fee payments.
To ensure absolute accountability, the portal instantly reflects all financial transactions in the MCC’s official accounts, making electronic receipts immediately available on the applicant’s mobile app. A groundbreaking transparency feature introduced in this release is the implementation of mandatory QR codes on all authorized advertisement hoardings and distributed payment challans. By simply scanning these QR codes, anyone can instantly verify the authenticity of the hoarding and identify the specific advertising agency or individual to whom the license belongs, effectively curbing illegal advertisements.
The software also features an advanced multi-tier search option, allowing administrators to generate custom, step-by-step reports easily, thereby enhancing data transparency and operational efficiency under a fully secure digital infrastructure. Looking ahead, municipal authorities plan to expand the capabilities of this unified software platform, aiming to bring every single type of advertisement hoarding permission and municipal fee collection under this digital umbrella in the coming days.
