Kadaba : A terrifying incident unfolded in Athoor of Ramakunja village near Kadaba on the evening of Tuesday, August 11, when a refrigerator exploded with a deafening noise, causing extensive damage to a residence owned by Siddique, an NRI worker. Despite the intensity of the blast, Siddique’s wife, Arifah, who was inside the house at the time, miraculously escaped uninjured due to her swift presence of mind.
Preliminary reports suggest that a technical snag or a short circuit triggered the fire, which led to the sudden, loud explosion of the appliance. The force of the blast tore through the structure, causing severe damage to the walls, ceiling, and furniture. Flames quickly spread throughout the interior, burning electronic appliances and other household belongings to ashes. Recognizing the danger as smoke and flames began erupting from the refrigerator, Arifah immediately rushed outside, avoiding potential tragedy.
Alerted by the blast and smoke, local residents quickly rushed to the spot and assisted in dousing the flames, preventing the fire from spreading further.
