New Delhi : The intense campaign led by Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), culminated in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, bringing an end to months of anxiety for Dipke’s family. Expressing her overwhelming joy and relief at their home in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, Abhijit’s mother, Anita Dipke, stated that her son’s honesty and the relentless support of the youth made this major victory possible. Emotional after seeing the outcome, she expressed her eager desire for her son to return home soon so she could welcome him with relief.
Recalling the agonizing period since Abhijit returned to India to spearhead the agitation at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi over the NEET paper leak controversy, Anita shared how she endured sleepless nights and constant fear for his safety. She revealed that every morning brought anxiety about potential harm to her son, prompting her to repeatedly check on him through his friends. Overcome with tears of joy now, she praised the thousands of young supporters who worked tirelessly for the cause, while noting that Abhijit might focus on social work rather than launching a full-fledged political outfit.
Abhijit’s father, Bhagwanrao Dipke, reflected on the immense hardship and threats the family endured, as they had no prior political background and had initially advised Abhijit against returning from the US. He recounted how the severe mental stress, physical safety threats, and police crackdowns during the protest—including an incident on July 20 where police intervened during a speech—left the family physically and emotionally exhausted. Commenting on the resignation, Bhagwanrao remarked that Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan displayed magnanimity by stepping down and urging students to focus on their education, emphasizing that this development should be viewed beyond victory or defeat.
