Mangaluru : Journalists act as a mirror to society, working tirelessly to create awareness and reform the community. However, the question remains as to who will hold a mirror to the journalists themselves. Senior writer and Chief Editor of ‘Anupama’ monthly, Shahnaz M., emphasized that society has a fundamental responsibility to recognize and respond to the professional duties, selfless service, and the personal struggles and triumphs of those in the media field.
Speaking after releasing the latest issue of ‘Mangaluru Press Club Samachara’ at the Press Club on Thursday, she noted a significant evolution in the role of media professionals. While journalists were once strictly confined to their reporting duties, those in Dakshina Kannada have expanded their horizons by engaging in numerous social service activities alongside their professional work. She expressed that the achievements and challenges faced by these individuals deserve to be known by the public, hoping that the Press Club’s newsletter effectively reaches the masses.
The program was presided over by Muhammad Arif Padubidri, Vice President of the Mangaluru Press Club. Notable attendees included Pushparaj B.N., President of the DK District Working Journalists Association, and General Secretary Rajesh Poojary. The event was anchored by Executive Committee member R.C. Bhat, while General Secretary Ibrahim Adkasthala delivered the vote of thanks.
