Bantwal : In a horrific road accident near B.C. Road Circle on Thursday evening, a pillion rider lost his life while the scooterist sustained critical injuries. The deceased has been identified as Yashwanth Kulal, a resident of Mardoli near Panemangalore. The scooter rider, Dayananda Kulal, suffered severe injuries in the impact.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a tipper lorry moving from Kalladka towards Loretto collided with the scooter traveling from Mangaluru towards Dharmasthala at the main junction of B.C. Road. The tipper lorry ran over both occupants of the two-wheeler, inflicting grave injuries upon them.
Passersby immediately rushed the injured victims to the Bantwal Government Hospital in an auto-rickshaw. Due to the severity of their condition, they were subsequently shifted to Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru for advanced medical treatment, where Yashwanth Kulal succumbed to his injuries. A case regarding the accident has been registered at the Bantwal Traffic Police Station.
