Belthangady : In a horrifying incident reported from Ujire in Belthangady taluk, a 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attempting to kill his father following a drunken brawl. The accused, identified as Bharath, who works at a local timber mill, reportedly attacked his father with a machete during a heated argument. The police moved swiftly to take the suspect into custody shortly after the incident came to light.
The victim has been identified as Narayana (52), a resident of Manike in Ujire village and a mason by profession. According to local sources, both the father and son were under the influence of alcohol when a verbal spat broke out between them. As the confrontation escalated, Bharath allegedly grabbed a machete and assaulted Narayana outside their house, inflicting severe injuries on his neck and hands.
Alert neighbors who witnessed the violent attack immediately intervened and rushed the bleeding Narayana to a private hospital in Ujire, where he is currently undergoing medical treatment. Following the report, the Belthangady police registered an official case of attempted murder. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to such a brutal domestic dispute.
