Mangaluru : The South Canara District Central Co-operative (SCDCC) Bank has achieved a historic milestone by recording an all-time high profit of ₹131.14 crore for the financial year 2025-26. Presiding over the bank’s 112th Annual General Meeting at the headquarters auditorium in Mangaluru, Bank President ‘Sahakara Ratna’ Dr. M.N. Rajendra Kumar officially declared a 10.5% dividend for its member societies, attributing the landmark success to unwavering adherence to cooperative principles and modernized banking practices.
Highlighting the bank’s operational scale, Dr. Rajendra Kumar announced that the total business turnover crossed ₹20,225 crore during the reporting year. Overcoming fierce market competition from commercial banks, the financial institution mobilized ₹9,264.85 crore in deposits across its 113 fully digitized branches—making it the top-ranking District Central Co-operative Bank in Karnataka for deposit collection. Furthermore, the bank extended total advances worth ₹9,766.75 crore, supported by a working capital base of ₹15,011.73 crore and total owned funds of ₹312.89 crore from its 1,104 member societies.
The bank set a remarkable national record by achieving a 100% recovery rate on agricultural loans for the 31st consecutive year, demonstrating the exceptional credit discipline of farmers across undivided Dakshina Kannada. In addition, 12 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) achieved total loan recovery in the region. The bank also strengthened rural empowerment by organizing 34,768 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) with total savings of ₹156.14 crore and an outstanding credit linkage of ₹463.82 crore across 34,746 groups. Recognizing its operational excellence, the bank has secured the Karnataka State Co-operative Apex Bank Award 23 times, the NABARD SHG Award 19 times, and the APY National Award for the 5th time.
The general body meeting celebrated high performers by presenting awards to top PACS, town cooperative banks, milk producers’ societies, and TAPCMS units across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Additionally, 8 retiring SCDCC Bank staff and 17 retiring PACS Chief Executive Officers were honored with a purse of ₹50,000 each. The event was attended by Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, Bank Vice President Vinaya Kumar Soorinje, CEO K. Gopalakrishna Bhat, board directors, and deputy registrars of cooperative societies from both districts.
