Ujire: Hemavathi V. Heggade of Dharmasthala announced that the “Gelathi” counselling committees, formed to amicably resolve women’s issues, will soon be launched at the district and taluk levels.
She was speaking on Thursday in Dharmasthala after inaugurating and wishing success to the counselling training workshop for Project Officers and District Coordinators regarding the “Gelathi” program, which is part of the Jnanavikasa Women’s Programme.
She stated that currently, seven regional “Gelathi” counselling committees are functional across the state. These committees include advocates, gynaecologists, psychologists, and police officers, who work to resolve women’s issues amicably through counselling.
Anilkumar, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, and Shantarama Pai, Finance Officer, were also present on the occasion.
