Ujire : In response to public demand, the Jodusthana Road in Dharmasthala village of Belthangady taluk has been officially renamed as ‘Padma Vibhushan Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade Road’. The renaming ceremony was held under the leadership of the Dharmasthala Gram Panchayat. Sri D. Harshendra Kumar of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala officially unveiled the new nameplate of the road.
Presence of Dignitaries
The event was presided over by Smt. Vimala Parameshwar, President of Dharmasthala Gram Panchayat. Several key figures, including Vice President Sri P. Srinivas Rao, and Panchayat members Sri Muralidhara Das, Sri Dinesh Rao, Sri Ramachandra Rao, Sri Ravikumar, Smt. Sunita Sridhar, Smt. Sunita DK, and Sri Sudhakar were present. Former panchayat members and prominent local leaders also graced the occasion to witness this milestone.
Community Participation
Local leaders such as Sri Subramanya Prasad, Sri Jagadish Jain, and Sri Abhishek, along with a large number of local residents, participated in the program. The event was formally welcomed and hosted by Panchayat staff member Smt. Vandana Prashanth Ballal. The renaming is seen as a tribute to the immense social and spiritual contributions of Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade.
