Mangaluru : The Board of Governors of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, has officially dismissed former Registrar Shri Ravindranath K. from his service due to administrative misconduct.
This decision follows a period of suspension that began on September 12, 2025, initiated at the direction of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, pending a formal Departmental Inquiry. The inquiry investigated allegations of procedural irregularities and professional impropriety, which were found to be in direct violation of the Central Civil Service (Conduct) Rules of 1964.
The investigation concluded that the charges against the former Registrar were grave and successfully proven, leading the Board to unanimously approve his dismissal. Furthermore, it was noted that his tenure as Registrar had already been terminated prior to this action, as he had held the position beyond the five-year limit stipulated by the NITSER Act and Statutes. This dismissal underscores the institute’s firm stance on maintaining a zero-tolerance policy regarding ethical compromises or any form of misconduct within its ranks.By taking this decisive action, NITK Surathkal aims to reinforce its commitment to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in its administration.
The move serves as a clear signal that the institute prioritizes institutional ethics and strictly adheres to governing statutes to ensure proper administrative conduct.
