Mangalore : Canara Bank Employee’s Union (CBEU) – Karnataka State Committee inaugurated its two days seventh conference at Milagres Complex Hall, on August 21, Saturday..
Speaking after inaugurating the conference, Comrade D D Rustagi, general secretary of CBEU said that the Bankers put forth various demands to the banks along with the financial demands too.
He also said that the bankers must give two structures of the wages to the employees. When one goes deeper into the study, we can know the aim of the banker. The bankers wanted to conduct simultaneous enquiry in the outside as well as the domestic purpose of the banks. Apart from it the bankers demanded disciplinary action, he said.
He also said that the pension settlement cannot be seen just in the financial angle but it has to be looked in the social security angle. The hidden agenda of government is still on, he alleged.
The Union is also ready to fight against the recent price hike and stage state level protest on September 7 to avoid poverty increased through price hike, he said.
Chief Guest P R Karanth, joint secretary of AIBEA, said that the union has succeeded in providing pension to the retired employees who have not received it. This was only possible by struggle done by the All India Bank Employees Association.
Further the demand by any bank employees for this opportunity will not be given as per the rules, he said.
Comrade HV Rai, general secretary, KPBEF, Comrade D Luke Baskaran, president, CBEU and Comrade GV Sambasiva Rao, deputy general secretary, CBEU were the guest of honour.
Comrade N Munikrishnappa, chairman of State Committee presided over the function.
