Dharmasthala Police Arrest Absconding Robbery Accused in Bengaluru After Five Years

Dharmasthala : In a successful operation, the Dharmasthala police arrested a long-absconding warrant accused from Bengaluru who had been evading court hearings for nearly five years in connection with a dacoity case. The arrested individual has been identified as 37-year-old Murthy, alias Pintu, a resident of Bengaluru. He was booked at the Dharmasthala Police Station under Crime No. 64/2017 for offences punishable under Sections 395, 397, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to police sources, the accused had continuously skipped court appearances for about five years, prompting the court to issue a non-bailable arrest warrant against him. Acting on precise intelligence, Dharmasthala police personnel Vrushabha and Charan Raj tracked down Murthy’s whereabouts in Bengaluru and successfully apprehended him. On August 5, the police produced the accused before the magistrate, following which the court remanded him to judicial custody.
