Mangaluru : The installation ceremony of the new committee for the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association for the term 2025-28 was held simply at the Press Club on Friday.
Handover of Authority:
Former President Srinivas Naik Indaje and former General Secretary Jitendra Kundeshwara officially handed over charge to the new office bearers. The key officials for the new committee are:
President: Pushparaj B.N.
General Secretary: Rajesh K. Poojary
Treasurer: Vijay Kotian
Oath Taking:
Former Presidents of the Association, Anand Shetty K., Jagannath Shetty Bala, and Harsha, administered the oath to the new office bearers and executive committee members. Other members who took the oath included Srinivas Naik Indaje (State Executive Committee Member), Muhammad Arif Padubidri, Wilfred D’Souza, Rajesh Shetty (Vice Presidents), and Suresh D. Palli, Siddiq Neeraje, and Satish Ira (Secretaries).
Future Focus and Vision:
Former President Anand Shetty advised the new committee to build and strengthen the association, which is currently celebrating its Golden Jubilee.
In his address after taking the oath, new President Pushparaj B.N. affirmed that the committee will continue the successful programs of the past while focusing on implementing essential schemes like a health insurance plan for journalists. He also pledged efforts towards the strengthening of taluk-level associations.
Dignitaries Present:
The event was attended by Information Officer and Association Election Officer Khader Shah, former office bearers Srinivas Naik Indaje, Jitendra Kundeshwara, Harsha, and former State Executive Committee Member Jagannath Shetty Bala. Srinivas Naik Indaje welcomed the gathering, Vice President Muhammad Arif Padubidri compered the program, and Treasurer Vijay Kotian proposed the vote of thanks.
