Mangaluru : The BJP Dakshina Kannada District President, Satish Kumpala, has accused the state government of being completely unsuccessful in implementing development projects due to the ongoing internal debate over who should be the Chief Minister. Speaking at a press conference held at the BJP district office on Friday, he claimed that since the Congress government came to power, it has been no secret that D.K. Shivakumar is preparing to become the CM. He further noted that leaders like G. Parameshwara and Mallikarjun Kharge also appear to be readying themselves for the position, leading to a collapse in the state’s administrative system where even guarantee scheme beneficiaries are not receiving benefits properly.
Kumpala alleged that development has been non-existent over the past three years, with leaders frequently traveling to Delhi solely for the sake of power. He described the leadership struggle as a “free drama” for the public and criticized the government for harassing women by not paying ‘Gruhalakshmi’ scheme funds on time. Additionally, he pointed out the irony of the government promising free electricity while simultaneously increasing electricity tariffs.
The administration is further crippled by server issues in the Revenue Department, making it difficult for citizens to pay house taxes or obtain birth and death certificates. Highlighting local issues, Kumpala stated that surveyors in Dakshina Kannada have been on strike for 55 days, resulting in 15,000 pending applications and the inability to generate ’11E’ maps. He criticized the District In-charge Minister for failing to address these serious concerns. During the same briefing, MLC Kishore Kumar announced that 5,000 workers from the district will participate in a program in Chitradurga on May 9 to mark former CM B.S. Yediyurappa’s 50th year in public life.
